A slow day - Day 3

Only played 2 STT's today. The first I was shortstacked but managed to scrape into 3rd place for a small profit while the second my AK was not enough against A9.
Overall a loss for the day but I think tomorrow I will play a few more and hopefully get into a nice profit. My aim is to be up 100 pound by Sunday night.

End of Day 2

Today I played 10 STT's on Willhill and I really dont like the structure. Players are only given 1000 starting chips and it makes it difficult to fold to a re-raise as often you are pot committed. I hope I can start to find a proper strategy at overcoming this as when there are 4 or 5 players left, it becomes a bit of a crapshoot.

End of Day 1

After my first session on Willhill I realize my game is better suited to the 10 handed tables with 10 hands per level. I tried some of the 6 handed tables just to see if they suited my game but the levels went too quickly and it became a crapshoot. If I can restrict myself to only 10 seat games at the 5£ level, I feel I can do well

Day 1 - First Up...WillHill

Well I just walked home from work and on the way I stopped at a William Hill betting shop and deposited £20.00 into my poker account. However, I just played my first STT on the site and lost to a flush draw. What disappoints me though is that I knew I was beat. I held AQo in the big blind and chose not to raise due to the number of limpers. (Limpers were getting reraised by the blinds and were going all in over the top) The flop was Q high with 2 spades. Into a pot of 120 I bet 85. One caller. The turn was an offsuit rag. I then raised the pot on the turn. He called with the river bringing his flush. I checked and he went all in. I knew he had the flush but with my over eagerness to play I called. Silly play. He had the flush and I have started my goal on a losing mark.

In The Beginning

I love playing poker both live and online and over the years my game has improved greatly. And though I am not ready to quit my job anytime soon, that does not mean I can't take poker seriously.

My goal as of right now is to make 3000 dollars playing single table tournaments on the pokerstars $5.50 tables, the Paddy Power $5.50 tables, and the William Hill £5.50 tables. The pokerstars and WillHill tables are 9 and 10 handed with the top 3 players in each tournament being paid while the Paddy Power tables I will be playing are 6 handed with the top two players getting paid. I plan on multitabling for approximately 1-2 hours a day with an average of 12 hours played weekly. Needless to say, this will take quite a while.

In the past I have done well at this level but I have always jumped to the next level by playing more expensive tables and playing when I shouldn't have been (tired, lack of focus, etc). After starting with a few dollars I have gone beyond one hundred dollars numerous times but my undiscipline always leaves me broke. Through this blog I hope to maintain my goal and enjoy any success I have for much longer then a few weeks.
